Julia Rivas, Coordinator Minority Teacher Recruitment Center, graduated from WKU in 2006 with a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies degree with emphasis in Organization and Communication of Ideas. Simultaneously, she acquired a Certificate in Nonprofit Management and Leadership, making her a National Certified Nonprofit Professional. In previous years, Julia worked at the Center for Citizenship and Social Justice as the Program Support Specialist. Previously, she also worked at the WKU ALIVE Center as a Multicultural Services Coordinator and the Coordinator of the Hispanic GED and ESL Program. Julia is proud of being first generation Latina alumni and strives to assist students in any way possible to see them succeed. Because of this, she decided to continue in the higher education field and obtained a Master of Arts in Education degree in Student Affairs program at WKU.
