Next Steps
We are excited to welcome you to campus! The checklist below will help you get ready
for the upcoming semester. To ensure we are able to prepare for your arrival, please complete the first five required tasks by June 15th, 2025. Everything else is recommended, but not required.
Required Tasks
After you receive your acceptance letter from the WKU Office of Admissions, please let us know that you plan to participate in the Summer Scholars Program!
Federal financial aid for the summer is determined by the 2024-25 FAFSA, while federal financial aid for the fall/spring is determined by the 2025-26 FAFSA. Please submit both to ensure you receive the maximum amount of grants, loans, and scholarships possible! Remember, processing your FAFSA can take up to a month during peak times of the year.
If you are required to live on campus for the fall semester, submit a housing application for the 2025-26 academic year. If you are eligible to live off campus, request a housing exemption. Housing and Residence Life will take this information into account as they make room and roommate assignments for the summer. Remember, you will live on campus during the Summer Scholars Program, no matter your housing status for the fall semester.
The Summer Scholars Program has an exclusive Topper Orientation Program (TOP) on July 7th, 2024. When you register, select the fall term option, even though you technically start in the summer. Please wait at least three business days after you confirm your enrollment for the system to update and display the correct TOP.
If you have a balance from the Summer Scholars Program, you will receive a bill between May and July. Please submit your payment to the Office of Student Billing and Account Services by the deadline listed. By default, bills are sent to your TopperMail email account, unless you specify a separate billing email address.
Recommended Tasks
Submit one general application to be considered for all scholarships at WKU. The priority deadline is December 31st.
If your unweighted high school GPA has improved or if you have taken any standardized tests since your admission application, send those documents to WKU. This information will help our Academic Advisors create the best possible schedule for you.
Students seeking accommodations or services for disabilities should contact the Student Accessibility Resource Center (SARC). Since the request and review process can take several weeks, we recommend contacting them as soon as possible.
Review meal plan options and select a meal plan through TopNet.
We encourage you to familiarize yourself with the various platforms and support services offered by Information Technology Services (ITS).
M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan is a transition program available to all first-year students that includes information sessions, group discussions, and socials. M.A.S.T.E.R. Plan takes place after the Summer Scholars Program, before the first day of the fall semester.
