Accounting JUMP Program

Accounting JUMP Program

The Accounting JUMP Program allows students to begin work on their MAcc degree during the first semester of their senior year (i.e., on completion of 90 hours of undergraduate course work).  A student who successfully pursues the JUMP program [3 +2 years of academic work] will earn 2 degrees:  a Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree and a Master of Accountancy degree.

Admission Requirements

File Statement of Intent with the Department of Accounting. Complete 90 hours of course work including ACCT 300, ACCT 301, ACCT 310, and ACCT 312.  Have a minimum GPA of 3.25 (4.0 scale) in ACCT 300, ACCT 301, ACCT 310, and ACCT 312.  Have a minimum grade of "C" in all accounting courses.

These minimum requirements establish eligibility for admission, but do not guarantee acceptance into the program.

Students who have an interest in pursuing the JUMP program to obtain a BS and MAcc degree concurrently must submit a Statement of Intent with the Department of Accounting expressing the interest to pursue the program.  The Statement of Intent may be submitted at any time prior to and upon the completion of 90 hours of undergraduate coursework including ACCT 300, ACCT 301, ACCT 310, and ACCT 312.

Note:

For students accepted into the JUMP program:

  • The GMAT requirement will be waived.

When the Department of Accounting notifies the student of acceptance into the JUMP program, a program of study will be prepared for each student with a copy submitted to Graduate Studies and Research. JUMP program students should successfully complete the BS degree requirements no later than the first semester of the fifth year of their program and receive their BS degree. They may then apply for admission to Graduate Studies and Research.  Upon the successful completion of the remainder of the JUMP program, students will be eligible to graduate and receive the Master of Accountancy degree.
