The online Adult Education cohort program at Western Kentucky University follows the scientist/practitioner model of training, focused on understanding, facilitating, and evaluating change as it relates to individuals, organizations, and communities/societies. The program is practice–oriented, offering a broad foundation for the professional who will render a wide variety of adult education services. The program is a 30-hour accelerated program that is completed in 18 months. Students enter the cohort and begin taking classes in the summer and are finished by the end of the following year. Students will be engaged with a variety of hands-on projects, working with other members of the cohort, and situated in the field. Experiences will be authentic and closely mimic the types of settings they would face in the workplace.
