FAQs about Western Kentucky University Admissions Tours
We suggest that prospective students sign up for a tour as soon as possible. Tours begin at the Eva and Jim Martens Alumni Center, where the admissions staff give a short presentation. Then your guide will show you the campus, the student union, and the inside of a residence hall.
If you don’t see your question in the FAQs below, you may contact us at 270-745-2551 or tours@wku.edu.
Our campus tours generally take place two to three times per day, Monday through Friday, during the regular fall and spring semesters. We also conduct tours on select Saturdays during this time period. Our campus tours last approximately two hours.
We post our tour dates for registration in advance, and you may view and sign up for our currently available tour dates/times by clicking ‘schedule tour’ above. If you are having difficulty utilizing our tour website, we are also able to take tour reservations over the phone at 270-745-2551. An automated email confirmation will be sent out around 15 minutes after your tour registration. The email will include the starting location and parking information.
In addition to an overview of the campus grounds, our student tour guides lead guests into our student center, one of our residence halls, and our student workout facility.
In addition to our campus tours, we also conduct recruitment events during the fall and spring semesters. Feel free to go to our Upcoming Events page to learn more and sign up for these events.
Upon request, we will provide you with the necessary contact information via email for you to arrange an opportunity to meet with a departmental representative in your academic area of interest. In order for our guests to have the very best experience, there are only so many spots
that we offer for each tour. If you sign up to be on the waiting list for a tour that
is full, you will receive an email confirming your spot on the waiting list. In the
event another guest cancels and we are able to accommodate your group, you will receive
an email confirming your registration.
We offer the flexibility for guests to participate in our Self-Guided and/or Virtual Tour by following the above instructions on this page. The Self-Guided Tour offers an extensive array of interactive features, so this is a great way to explore our campus without having to officially register for a WKU Admissions campus tour.
Yes, our campus tour operations do carry over into the summer term (mid-May through late August), and we offer multiple tours Monday through Friday during this period.

the observance of a major holiday. For a list of these dates, please go to our Academic Calendar.
Specific driving and parking directions are emailed to tour guests after their tour registration is confirmed by our office. Upon request, we can also provide guests with a one-day Admissions Guest Parking Pass that will allow visitors to park in other designated parking lots on our campus.
Admissions Guest Parking Passes are only distributed upon request to registered tour guests on the day of their scheduled visit.
You may want to bring an umbrella depending on the weather, but you are not required to bring anything in order to participate. We would also recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes since a large portion, or all, of your tour will be conducted in a walking format.
We conduct our campus tours rain or shine and only cancel our tour operations in the event our university (Bowling Green campus) is closed due to inclement weather. You may access weather-related emergency updates by going to wku.edu or following us via twitter at @WKUAdmissions.
