Computer Animation
Courses enable students to gain mastery of 3D computer animation skills applicable to a diverse set of experimental approaches to the art of computer animation. The program provides time to grow student portfolios then ultimately prepare for graduate school or contemporary art practice as an independent artist as well as for careers in the creative technological fields such as computer animation/graphics, film, television, videography, multi-media design. Among three Macintosh-based computer labs in the Department of Art, room 438 is the hub of computer animation. The lab is equipped with 20 iMacs, a professional scanner, a printer, and the current Adobe Creative Cloud, Autodesk Maya and other related software. Equipment also includes digital broadcast-quality cameras such as Sony HVR-HD1000U Digital High Definition HDV Camcorder and Digital HD Video Cassette Recorder for the students who combine traditional art techniques with digital tools to create live-action animated films.
