Bobby Grace Brakefield Big Red School Scholarship Fund
Bobby Grace Brakefield was born May 9, 2022, in Nashville, to her grateful parents, Logan and Hendrix. For 2 years 7 months and 7 days she blessed her family and everyone who knew her with her smile, warmth, humor, and joy. Bobby was quick to learn and quicker to act. She loved dancing, singing, swinging, jumping, tickling, running errands, going to Big Red School, playing with her cousins and friends, and talking to all people within earshot. She had a beautiful bedroom, but disliked having to sleep, and she experienced constant FOMO when anyone was doing anything she wasn’t. She loved cheese, fruit, and milk and learned to chew bubble gum without swallowing it. She loved to pray before meals and whenever she heard an ambulance. She was too smart, talkative, tall, and empathetic for her age, but that is how it had to be for her to make the impact she did in the time she had. She loved her little brother Murrell, she was his bossy big sister, and the influence she had on him will last his entire life.
Bobby Grace passed away Sunday December 15, 2024 from volvulus, a twisted intestine, at her home in Bowling Green, Kentucky, in the arms of her mom and in the presence of her dad and brother. She will be missed, and the world will be a little greyer, but her legacy brings light, and we hope those who knew her will spread it.
To honor her memory, family members established a scholarship fund in her name. The fund provides tuition assistance to students attending Big Red School at the Renshaw Early Childhood Center at WKU, and through this fund, Bobby Grace’s legacy lives on.
