Celebrating the Life of Brittney Gorman Parrish
Brittney Gorman Parrish was born July 2, 1988, to Doug Gorman and Siegrid Fulkerson Gorman in Bowling Green. Brittney loved life and everyone associated with it. Her first nickname as a baby was "Spunky" based on her penchant from waking up from naps always smiling.
After being "raised Red" her whole life, Brittney pursued her undergraduate degree at Western Kentucky University and proudly graduated as a Hilltopper.
She loved to design, create, produce, and envision items that made people happy and the world a better place. Her Etsy shop delighted fans all over the US. Brittney was also the current President of the Junior Women's Club. She was known to be instant sunshine to friends, co-workers, and neighbors and her beautiful smile was said to be contagious. Her selfless attitude, attention to detail at work and at home, fashion sense, and love of gourmet cooking made her woman for all ages.
Brittney loved her Savior and Family above all else. She lived by the scripture Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
She fell madly in love with and married Terris Allen Parrish and the two had their daughter Emery Rose Parrish in 2016. Brittney's #1 goal and passion was to be a great Mommy to her precious Emery. She adored her with all of her heart.
After being diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, Brittney passed away on May 25, 2017. To honor her precious memory, her mother and friends have established the Brittney Gorman Parrish Memorial Scholarship Fund benefiting WKU students from Kentucky who are living with cancer, cancer survivors, or have an immediate family member affected by cancer. Through this fund, Brittney's legacy lives on in perpetuity.
