Remembering Brandon Brown

Brandon Kyle Brown was born on December 10, 1997, and welcomed by his parents, Tricia and Ian Brown, and an older brother, Sjon-Paul. He was followed by two younger brothers, Ryan and Braxton. Brandon lived in Bowling Green, but he also loved Westmoreland, TN, where some of his extended family lived. He was homeschooled until 7th grade at which time he entered South Warren High School. In 2016, he graduated high school with honors and a scholarship to Western. Naturally artistic, Brandon pursued a major of Advertising with a minor in Graphic Design. When he died on September 18, 2018, he was on track to complete his Bachelor of Arts in just three and a half years.

Brandon worked for several employers during his lifetime, including Image West, where he was an intern at the time of his death. He earned a reputation for being a friendly, polite, and hard-working employee. At 6’4”, Brandon was a big guy with a big heart, especially for his family and for children, at one time even considering a degree in early education. An avid athlete during childhood, he played recreational basketball in high school, opting for “more fun and less work.” He could also play music by ear and enjoyed online gaming, board games, and watching movies. Whether playing Scrabble or arguing the merits of the latest superhero flick, Brandon was very competitive and loved to win.

The most important decision Brandon made was to accept Jesus Christ as His Savior, and his family is comforted that they will see him again in Heaven. Brandon was an intelligent, caring, hard-working, funny and very talented young man, who is greatly missed. He had a profound impact on those who knew him, as evidenced by all of those who made this memorial possible. We hope this scholarship helps others to accomplish their educational goals while also helping keep Brandon’s memory alive for years to come.
