Lauren Gerkins Marr Memorial Scholarship Fund
Lauren Gerkins Marr was born on June 16th, 1995 in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Lauren was a graduate of Western Kentucky University where she earned her undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Social Work. She was a member and former chapter president of Alpha Omicron Pi sorority. She loved WKU and her WKU family. She was a dedicated employee of the Kentucky Child Protective Services for seven years. Her deep passion for helping children and their families was evident in everything she did. In her short life, she was a devoted mother, and a faithful member of Forest Park Baptist Church in Bowling Green. She is remembered for the many and generous contributions she made to her family, friends, and community.
To honor her memory, her parents have established the Lauren Gerkins Marr Memorial Scholarship Fund. The fund assists deserving Kentucky residents seeking their masters of social work degree with preference given to those who serve or live in the Two Rivers Region. Through this fund, Lauren's legacy lives on in perpetuity.
