John Paul brings more than 33 years of higher ed philanthropy experience to the College Heights Foundation. Following his Western Kentucky University graduation, he accepted Campbellsville University’s Director of Development position where, for five years, he directed all aspects of giving, helped lead a successful comprehensive campaign 66% over goal, and increased the University’s annual cash flow by 102%. He then both returned to WKU and completed a Master of Education degree in Vanderbilt University’s Higher Education Administration program with an emphasis in Institutional Advancement. WKU has achieved unprecedented fundraising success during his tenure including two successful comprehensive campaigns totaling more than $300,000,000, a subsequent decade of philanthropy totaling $300,000,000 more, and a current scholarship campaign exceeding $100,000,000.
Professionally, John Paul has received several honors including 50 awards from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) and was honored as the youngest ever recipient of CASE Kentucky’s Beth K. Fields Service Award for “years of dedication and service to both higher education and the institutional advancement profession, and for unprecedented achievement in fund raising”. Speaking of CASE, he has served at the international level, is a past member of the CASE District 3 Board of Directors, and past president of CASE Kentucky.
John Paul (WKU ’92) is most grateful to have been a College Heights Foundation (CHF) scholarship recipient along with his wife Leslie (WKU ’92), son Jack (WKU ’21), and daughter Maggie (WKU’26).
