Warren County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship Fund
Paving the Way for a New Generation
The first $1,000 Warren County Retired Teachers Association Scholarship was presented to Emily Leon (center) at the May 2017 College of Education and Behavioral Sciences Awards Program by Dr. Martha C. Jenkins (left, Scholarship Committee Representative) and Dr. Don Ritter (President, WCRTA). Emily is a graduate of Greenwood High School.
The WCRTA Scholarship Fund is established in the College Heights Foundation. The express purpose of the fund is to provide scholarships to deserving students at Western Kentucky University who have been accepted into the Teacher Education Program. Emily is a graduate of Greenwood High School, is active in community activities, and has shown commitment to education in her plans to earn dual certification in elementary education and special education.
Teachers are the lifeblood of education systems, and without qualified teachers it is impossible to achieve outstanding graduates. We are eager to build the perpetual fund to $25,000 so that interest will yield a $1,000 scholarship annually. We appeal to your interest in supporting the training of qualified teachers to help fund scholarships for future teachers.
