Allie McCreary is an Assistant Professor in the School of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport. Her research centers on the human dimensions of natural resource and recreation resource management; specifically, on three challenges park and recreation managers face: (1) anticipating and adapting to changing climatic conditions, (2) effectively utilizing partnerships to deliver programs and services, and (3) understanding how physical and psychological proximity to natural and recreation resources influences individuals sense of place. Allie is interested in multiple facets of diversity, equity, and inclusion. In previous positions, she has worked with groups such as ‘Students with Children’ and ‘Women in Science’ to raise awareness and negotiate support services for specific populations within the University community. Allie believes that intellectual, cultural, and experiential diversity is a hallmark of creative and successful learning and research environments.
