Dr. David L. Bell earned a B.S. degree from Western Kentucky University (1994), a B.H.S./P.T. degree from the University of Louisville (1996), and a D.P.T. degree from the University of Kentucky (2012). He also earned M.Div. and Ph.D. degrees from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (2001, 2005). Dr. Bell began his clinical career in 1996, most of which has been spent in the outpatient setting where he treated patients with a wide variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. He is certified in manual therapy (MTC) and dry needling (Cert DN) and is experienced with vestibular rehabilitation. For most of his career, he has served as a clinical instructor for physical therapy students and has promoted the profession of physical therapy at career fairs at the high school and collegiate levels. He has volunteered his time extensively in helping children and adults recovering from traumatic brain injuries. He has research interests in professionalism and ethics and in dry needling. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Kentucky Physical Therapy Association. In addition to his career as a physical therapist, Dr. Bell has served bi-vocationally in various ministry capacities including pastor, church planter, youth minister, and author. He has made multiple voluntary trips to Poland where he has worked with impoverished inner-city children and has taught in English language camps for teenagers. Dr. Bell has practiced martial arts since the age of 12 and enjoys leading a self-defense training group. He also enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including canoeing / kayaking, camping, fishing, hunting, and recreational shooting.
