Biography

Brittney Vickous, M.S., CCC-SLP graduated from Western Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders in 2010 and Master of Science in Communication Disorders in 2011. She holds her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed by the Kentucky Board of Speech-Language Pathology.

After graduation, she worked in a skilled nursing facility with the adult and geriatric populations, including extensive work with patients with advancing dementia for seven years. During her time at the skilled nursing facility, she provided externship supervision to numerous students. She is trained in myofascial release and neuromuscular electrical stimulation for dysphagia.

Role in the Department

Brittney began working at WKU in 2019. Currently, she teaches, provides supervision to student clinicians at WKU’s Communication Disorders Clinic, and is the Pre-SLP program coordinator/advisor.
