This exhibit tells the stories of freshmen year from participants in a student success intiative, WKU Freshmen Guided Pathway (FGP). This cohort of first-time, full-time students who graduated from one of five high schools in Warren County represent the typical WKU freshman in terms of academic achievement prior to admission and their demographic makeup.
Primarily featuring textiles from the Kentucky Museum and Kentucky Historical Society, Whitework: Women Stitching Identity explores the significance of early white embellished textiles that have been largely ignored, undervalued, and misinterpreted.
hisFriday, October 2 from 12-1pm we will have a special guest, Normanda Lawless, joining us for our Talley Talk. Normanda is an alumnus of our program and is planning to talk with us about Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and how to use this intervention with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, and trauma.
Normanda Lawless received her graduate degree from WKU counseling program with a focus on Marriage, Couples, and Family Counseling. She graduated from her master's program in 2015. Her internship was at Lifeskills Childrens Crisis Unit from 2014-2015. Her specialty areas include depression, anxiety, trauma, and couples' therapy. She currently works in a private practice in Bowling Green called The Cognitive Refinery and is pursuing certification in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
