The Future of Finance Scholarship Fund for Women Established by Prime Capital Investment Advisors

Prime Capital Investment Advisors is committed to supporting a vibrant and diverse talent base in the financial services industry. That is why we recently formed a 501(c)(3) that is sponsoring scholarships for women interested in pursuing careers in finance, financial planning, and/or investment management.

The entire financial services industry is behind on this issue, and we are taking a leadership role in promoting greater diversity in our space. Becoming more diverse will require a lot of effort and a key ingredient will be encouraging students to study finance, financial planning, and investments in college. You may know that Prime Capital has a robust internship program, and The Future of Finance Scholarship Fund will be a perfect add-on to our program.

The 2023-2024 academic year was our first for providing scholarships, and we plan to provide them annually. Last August, the Future of Finance Scholarship Fund awarded our first two scholarships.  

The CFP Board Center for Financial Planning administers scholarship programs that assist aspiring CFP® professionals with completing the education and exam requirements for CFP® certification.

RIA Talent Advantage Student Scholarship - for Financial Planning Undergraduate Students -  Charles Schwab

Schwab Advisor Services in partnership with the Charles Schwab Foundation are looking to award twelve $10,000 scholarships to financial planning undergraduate students, or to undergraduate students who demonstrate their commitment to joining the RIA industry after graduation.

We encourage applications from students demonstrating a strong academic record, a passion for the RIA Industry and have a commitment to making a positive impact in the RIA field. Ideal candidates should be in good standing with an accredited four-year institution and in their freshman, sophomore, or junior year of study.

Students, check out the new RIA Talent Advantage Student Scholarship from Schwab Advisor Services and the Charles Schwab Foundation. There are twelve $10,000 scholarships available to students seeking a degree in financial planning or a career within the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) industry.

The Peggy Ruhlin Wealth is Women’s Work CFP® Exam Scholarship awards $625 toward the early registration rate of $825 for the CFP® exam. This means a scholarship awardee will assume financial responsibility for $200 of the CFP® exam.

The application window closes on May 2, 2024.

The NAPFA Women’s Initiative is pleased to offer two academic scholarships ($2,500 each) for female students with an interest in financial planning. Applicants should be female students of any major enrolled in a college or university in the United States. Students who will be a sophomore, junior, or senior in Fall 2023 qualify. Applications must be submitted by March 31, 2023.

The national Financial Planning Association also maintains a list of scholarships on their web site, including a scholarship to their annual conference.

To help diversify its workforce, Charles Schwab’s corporate foundation is establishing a $3.5 million endowment to support Black college students pursuing careers in financial planning.

Any Black student majoring in financial planning is eligible to apply for the two-year scholarship program. Students accepted will get approximately $20,000 in scholarship funds, $10,000 for their junior year and $10,000 for their senior year. Recipients will also be encouraged to apply for internships at Schwab, “which could help inspire a future career in financial planning,” the company said in a statement about the endowment announced Monday.
