Position Description

As the University NAGPRA Specialist, Nikki Wilcox manages the development and implementation of the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act compliance and repatriation program for Western Kentucky University, including the Department of Folk Studies and Anthropology and the Kentucky Museum. Wilcox represents WKU as the primary contact for the NAGPRA program and ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for NAGPRA-eligible collections curated by the University. She chairs the University NAGPRA and Tribal Relations Committee.

Background and Interests

Nikki Wilcox holds a Master's degree in anthropology from the University of Mississippi, Oxford. Her areas of expertise include human osteology and bioarchaeology.
