WKU History Department - Student Profiles
Alisha Couarm
Winner of the A. M. Stickles Scholarship
Alisha is from Pineville, Kentucky, and plans on graduating this May. After college, she plans on working for the National Park Service. Alisha has a puppy named Judy and she loves to read, crochet, and travel! Alisha became a History and Social Studies major because she finds herself drawn to history; she finds a lot of value in learning about our past as a key to hopefully be able to save our future. Her favorite part of being a History/Social Studies major is the community behind it! She feels fortunate to have shared classes with a lot of the same group of friends and to hear their fascinating perspectives and opinions. Many of her favorite professors at WKU are in the History department. Her favorite quote is from Maya Angelou: “History, despite its wrenching pain, cannot be unlived, but if faced with courage, need not be lived again.”
Congratulations Alisha!
