Honors Benefits

The Mahurin Honors College at WKU offers a rich array of benefits to students. These include personalized advising, small class sizes, and access to distinguished faculty. Students also enjoy unique research opportunities, study abroad programs, and a vibrant community of like-minded peers. The college fosters leadership development, critical thinking skills, and a commitment to service, providing a transformative educational experience for those seeking academic excellence.

Entering first-year students are welcome onto campus early to attend H4 retreat, and are matched with an H4 counselor and a group of their classmates, many of whom become fast friends. Honors courses are small (capped at 25) and taught by dedicated faculty. Honors courses are not "more" or "harder" just because, but rather invite scholars to engage in broader, deeper, and more complex learning experiences than standard courses.

Curricular & Co-Curricular Benefits
