Name and Pronoun Email Template

Informing your instructors of your name and pronouns about one to two weeks before classes begin is recommended. To make contacting instructors with this important information as easy as possible for students, QSU*Transgender Non-Binary Student Group provides the following template:

Dear [instructor’s name, with title]:

My name is [name], and I will be attending your course [course (Ex: ENG 300] on [days] at [time] this [term]. On your roster is my legal name, [legal name]. However, I do not go by this name. Please call me [name] and use [pronouns] when referring to me.

Thank you for your understanding. I look forward to beginning class!
