Bachelor of Social Work
WKU's Bachelor of Social Work program consists of 54 semester hours – 48 hours in social work and 6 hours in advisor consent
electives. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job outlook is expected to grow 16% by 2026. Our program is designed to prepare
students for jobs in fields like the following:
- Foster care and adoptions
- Probation, parole, and youth offender services
- Victim assistance
- Employee hiring, retention, and retirement
- Working with developmentally disabled
- Providing academic services in schools
- Improving conditions for disadvantaged
- Working with older adults
- Planning and development of community programs
- Counseling and therapy for individuals and families
- Developing programs that promote health
- Drug or alcohol addiction treatment
