Funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, the Science, Mathematics, and Research for Transformation (SMART) Scholarship pays for tuition and education-related fees and provides a stipend of $25,000 - $41,000, depending on prior educational experience, paid summer internships, a health insurance reimbursement allowance, and employment after graduation in a government lab. Undergraduate and graduate students in the STEM fields are eligible to apply.
