WKU student Lillian Nellans of Des Moines, Iowa, was awarded a $2,000 scholarship from the Foundation for Global Scholars to support study in the Peace and Conflict program at American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina this summer.

The Office of Scholar Development (OSD) has awarded 10 WKU students a total of $17,900 in Lifetime Experience Grants in the 2014-15 academic year.

Two WKU students have been recognized by the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship program for the fall. Cache Tyler Tomlinson received a scholarship to study in Germany. Haley Danielle Taylor was selected as an alternate.

Andrew Henderson, a WKU student from Olive Hill, will spend six weeks this summer studying in the US-UK Fulbright Summer Institute in Wales.

Erin Asher, Sarah Fox, Lindsey Houchin, Kayla Sweeney and Rebecca Thieman received Fulbright grants to study or teach English abroad. Hayley Hilbert and Ryan Vennell are alternates.

Chasity Jane Hodge of Lebanon Junction, Abigail Vickers of Waynesburg and Amy Wolterman of Lexington were awarded scholarships of up to $5,000. China Rose Brown of Nortonville and Colleen Lorraine Goodson of Whitesburg were selected as alternates.

Two WKU students have been awarded David L. Boren Scholarships that will fund a year studying abroad.Tyler Prochazka will study in China, and Zachary Redmond will study in Jordan.

Four students at WKU have been recognized by the U.S. State Department’s Critical Language Scholarship Program. Mackenzie Donoghue, Alex Hezik, Kelly Tursic, and Jody Dahmer received scholarships.

Four students at The Carol Martin Gatton Academy of Mathematics and Science in Kentucky at WKU have been offered nationally competitive scholarships for immersive language study this summer.
