She also grapples with the impending weight of grief and loss as she watches her best friend and first love during the last hours of his fight against tuberculosis. Each new character Alice meets in Wonderland deepens her understanding of the highs and lows, joys and heartaches of traversing the world in the face of paradigm altering world events and deeply personal love and loss. Join us at the Kentucky Museum for a free community event celebrating the metal workers' trade, including:
- Forge demonstrations.
- Tinsmithing demonstrations.
- Aluminum Pour demonstration and make-your-own pour.
- Basic Forge Skills Demonstrations.
- Opportunity to learn about joining metal working associations and getting started in the trade.
- Learn about the Kentucky Forge Council and become a member.
- Kentucky Folklife Program Narrative Stage, including an interview with our Featured Blacksmith.
- Big T's Bar-B-Cue food truck on site.

Black Material Culture with Dr. Tiffany Momon, Assistant Professor, University of the South. This talk will focus on Dr. Momon's community-based historic preservation projects with Black Craftspeople Digital Archive, a black digital humanities project that centers black craftspeople, their lives, and their contributions to the making and building of America. The talk will engage with how black craftspeople are identified and researched in the historical record and how institutions are adjusting their curatorial practices to better collect, preserve, and engages with this history. Dr. Momon is the founder and co-director of the Black Craftspeople Digital Archive and has worked with organizations such as the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts, Winterthur Museum and Gardens, and the Daughters of the American Revolution Museum.

SANTOS–Skin to Skin is a film portrait of community activist and seven-time Grammy nominee John Santos, a “keeper of the Afro-Caribbean flame.” Rich in musical performances, Santos links the rhythms of his ancestors to contemporary struggles of identity and social justice.
