Department of Modern Languages Professor Wins KWLA Award

Dr. Ke Peng, Director of the Chinese Flagship Program and Associate Professor of Chinese, has received the 2022 Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award from the Kentucky World Language Association (KWLA).
Each year, this award acknowledges a Kentucky world language teacher that has demonstrated long-term achievement and service to the profession.
Dr. Peng will represent KWLA and WKU at the Southern Conference on Language Teaching (SCOLT) in March 2023. She will also be a candidate for the regional SCOLT Teacher of the Year Award and could go on to compete for the National World Languages Teacher of the Year Award, presented by the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL).
Before winning this award, Dr. Peng received the Outstanding Chinese Teacher Award from the Kentucky Association of Chinese Language Teachers.
