SEAHO Service Award Presented to WKU HRL Assistant Director
- Monday, March 6th, 2023
Doug Tate, Assistant Director of Housing Administration at Western Kentucky University, received the SEAHO Service Award at the Southeastern Association of Housing Officers annual conference in Richmond, Virginia, held March 1-3, 2023.
The SEAHO Service Award is chosen by the senior housing officer of the member institution to recognize a staff person who has made significant contributions to residence hall students and the housing organization.
“Even though many of our staff members in HRL are exceptional in their roles, it was easy to choose Doug to nominate for the SEAHO Service Award this year,” said Lana Kunkel, Director of Housing Operations at WKU. “In the time frame captured by the essence of this award, he truly shined in every possible way, from how he makes our operations more effective and efficient with technology, to his response in emergency situations and how he helps us leverage our tools to support students. Doug constantly thinks outside the box about how to do things better and is truly an unsung hero of our department and the university."
SEAHO is a regional affiliate of the Association of College and University Housing Officers - International (ACUHO-I).
