Abdul Samad, a second year student in the MPA program at WKU, recently received his acceptance into the ASPA Founders’ Fellowship program for 2015. Lindsey Evans, the Program Coordinator for ASPA, notified Abdul on December 16th, 2014 of the award. As an ASPA Founders’ Fellow, Abdul will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Chicago to attend the ASPA 2015 annual conference in March where he will participate in a formal panel by presenting his research. Being accepted as a member of the ASPA Founders’ Fellowship is an honor and a recognition of Abdul’s career potential in public administration.
Abdul is also being recognized at the local level, and has received the Robert J. Wurster Scholarship from WKU. This award consists of a $1,000 financial credit for the student’s educational expenses, and is based on his involvement in campus/community activities/events.
