- Monday, April 23rd, 2018
BOWLING GREEN, KY –– A pop-up street fair is taking place on April 28th at 4PM. The event is introducing a public relations campaign called Rue de la Rouge. Rue de la Rouge is a campaign that is attempting to make the Downtown area more appealing to WKU students and to build a cultural bridge to Downtown Bowling Green.
The festivities will begin on Center Street near the Augenstein Alumni Center in front of the Big Red Statue, where they will hold a pop-up street fair. Some of the vendors of this event include local consignment shop Hope House as well as other vintage vendors such as Bad Ass Retro, Cool Jerk Vintage Co., JV Vintage, Versace Turbo Closet and Grasp Vintage and more.
“This is a great opportunity to encourage students to explore Downtown Bowling Green,” said Kenneth Payne, Associate Professor at WKU. “This campaign can help create a cultural bridge that the Downtown Bowling Green community needs.” The event is being planned by Senior Public Relations students at WKU and they are working in collaboration with Mayhem, a concert hosted by WKU’s Revolution 91.7. The concert is going to take place at the Soky Marketplace at the end of Center Street at 6pm. The concert headliners include J Roddy Walston and The Business as well as The Josephines.
