Dear Colleagues:

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Howarth as WKU’s new Executive Vice President for Strategy, Operations, and Finance, effective June 17, 2019.

We are grateful for Ann Mead’s 25 years of service at WKU. She will continue in her role until June 30, when she will transition to a well-deserved, slower pace in retirement. We will provide ample opportunities to celebrate Ann, and her many contributions to our University, over the next couple of months.

Susan is currently the Director of Decision Support at the University of Louisville, previously serving as Interim CFO. Beginning her collegiate career at WKU, she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Finance from UofL and then a Master of Science degree in Finance from Northern Illinois University. Her father was born and raised in Butler County, and she’s thrilled to be closer to her family in Morgantown. We are confident Susan’s 30+ years of experience will lead both her and WKU to great success.  

I’d like to thank the EVP Search Committee, chaired by Dean Corinne Murphy, for their hard work and discernment during this process.

Please, help me provide Susan with a warm welcome to our Hilltopper family this summer!
