WKU Mock Trial Team Competes at Colonel Classic Invitational

Two teams from the Western Kentucky University Mock Trial program attended the Colonel Classic invitational in Lexington, Ky on November 23rd and 24th. The tournament was hosted by Eastern Kentucky University at the Fayette County Courthouse. WKU’s A team had a record of 4-4 in their second tournament of the season with wins over Xavier University and Miami University (Ohio). Additionally, team President Jacob McAndrews won his second Outstanding Attorney award of the season. After the tournament McAndrews said, “it is encouraging to see our team continue to improve as the season goes on, this was a very competitive tournament and we held up well.”
WKU’s B team also attended the Colonel Classic, their first tournament of the season, and went 2-6. Lily Harvey earned her first Outstanding Witness award of the season. Team Captain Nathaniel Krantz said he was pleased by the performance of WKU’s second team. He said that this was the first tournament for three of their four attorneys, and they all performed exceptionally.
This was the last tournament of the fall semester for the WKU Mock Trial teams. The A and B teams will compete in the Crimson Classic hosted by the University of Alabama the weekend of January 25th and 26th.
