The Kentucky Museum is seeking sponsors for its 2020 annual programs.
Each year, the Museum provides a variety of programs for WKU and the community. These programs often incorporate hands-on activities and demonstrations. For 2020, the Museum is seeking sponsors for the following:
WKU Student FunShops – provided several times per year, FunShops are evening art classes specifically for WKU students. The FunShops are offered free to WKU students, with materials costs provided by sponsors. The first workshop of the year will be offered on Tuesday, February 11, and feature woven hearts.
Each FunShop requires $100 for materials and supplies. Sponsors may support one or several FunShops.
Hammer-In – held annually each October, this event partners with the Kentucky Forge Council and Kentucky Folklife Program to present a 4-hour program in honor of Kentucky’s metalworking tradiitons. The program includes forge demonstrations, tinsmith demonstrations, green coal classes, a narrative stage, and an aluminum pour. The event is free for the community, with title sponsorship provided by Logan Aluminum.
Additional sponsorships help engage more artisans, provide additional class materials, and support expansion of the Hammer-In. Suggested sponsorship level is $500.
Christmas in Kentucky – held annually on the first Saturday in December, this event welcomes over 700 visitors to participate in holiday-themed merriment. Activities include magic shows, balloon animals, visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus, ornament making, historic Christmas activities, and hot cocoa and cookies in the Felts Log Cabin. Title sponsorship is provided by ServiceOne Credit Union.
Additional sponsorships help provide more materials, additional craft stations for children to make and take home holiday crafts, and engagement of WKU student groups such as the WKU Treblemakers to provide entertainment. Suggested sponsorship level is $100 to $1,000.
All sponsors are recognized on print and digital marketing for the program, as well as in the Museum’s annual report.

About Kentucky Museum
The Kentucky Museum celebrates all aspects of South-Central Kentucky’s art, history, and culture. “Kentuckians need to know Kentucky” was the museum’s earliest conceptual framework, which took shape in the eyes of WKU’s founding president Henry Hardin Cherry. Today, we serve as a premier teaching museum whose collections are used to complement, support, and challenge the academic experience while providing quality educational and cultural experiences for our community.
