Carryover Vacation Hours and Holiday Schedule
- Wednesday, June 17th, 2020
Dear Faculty and Staff:
The COVID-19 pandemic has created challenges for some to enjoy their earned vacation time as they would in normal circumstances. Because of this, I am happy to share with you today that all those at WKU who accrue vacation may carry over 200 hours, instead of the typical 150, from the current fiscal year to the next fiscal year, ending June 30, 2021. This change increases carryover vacation hours by 50 and will be applied to all vacation balances on June 30, 2020.
Additionally, the WKU Holiday Schedule for FY 2020-21 is below for your planning purposes. Please note that the plan removes Labor Day as an observed university holiday but also adds two days off in November. These changes are based on the academic calendar set forth in the Big Red Restart.
I appreciate all that you continue to do during this unusual time and your unwavering commitment to our institution and to our students. I encourage each of you to find some rest and relaxation before the semester begins in August, when we will continue to work hard to provide an exemplary WKU Experience for our students while protecting the health and wellbeing of our entire Hilltopper Family.
Go Tops!
