To celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival, a major Chinese holiday, the students in the Chinese Calligraphy course were introduced to the stories and the traditions from various Asian cultures - moon viewing in Japan, traditional attire in South Korea, lantern in China, mooncake in Hong Kong, and BBQ/Pomelo in Taiwan.
They learned how to write related Chinese words, including "Happy Mid-Autumn Festival", "Jade Rabbit", and "Autumn". At the end of the class, they collaborated with hand-writing and illustration to make a poster with all the "Fall" elements, from the big moon to the pumpkin and fallen leaves.
