PCAL Faculty & Staff Think Tank

In 2022, Dean Brown established the PCAL Think Tank to explore the underlying factors affecting employee morale and to develop actionable recommendations for improvement. These recommendations include implementing solutions that require modest financial resources and adopting best practices to support employee well-being. He invited faculty and staff with a reputation for advocating for themselves and others to participate in addressing challenges and developing meaningful solutions.

PCAL faculty and staff are encouraged to share information, concerns, or suggestions related to employee morale with any member of the Think Tank, who will ensure these contributions are brought to the group for discussion. Employees are welcome to indicate if they prefer to remain anonymous in the broader conversation.

The Think Tank meets monthly via Zoom during the academic year. Members of the PCAL community are welcome to request an opportunity to address the group. To make a request, please contact the committee chair, Audrey Anton (audrey.anton@wku.edu), in advance. The chair will include the request in the agenda and provide the guest with the Zoom link.

Actionable topics are presented to Dean Brown by the committee chair, a sub-committee, or the full Think Tank, depending on the issue's nature and stage of development. Typically, suggestions and solutions are carefully refined within the committee over multiple meetings and shared with the Dean only when fully developed or finalized. Throughout this process, the committee remains committed to safeguarding the anonymity of non-committee contributors unless otherwise requested.
