Physical Therapy Faculty

Dr. Ashton McPherson is a Kentucky native and alumni of Western Kentucky University with a degree in Exercise Science, class of 2016. She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Tennessee State University in, where she was selected as a POTUS fellow, a prestigious program designed to advance minorities in STEM. She completed her American Board Specialty Certification in Pediatrics in 2022, and has worked in a variety of settings including pediatric outpatient, pediatric home health, and long term care. 

Dr. McPherson has a deep commitment to early intervention services and the expansion of community resources for minorities and underserved populations. She is also dedicated to advancing pediatric pelvic floor therapy, a growing population with limited practitioners. Prior to her appointment at WKU, she has served as a clinical instructor to a variety of PTA and DPT students.
