Research and Clinical Interests
My research focuses on bridging the gap between cognitive neuroscience and clinical science by applying a wide range of cutting-edge approaches including fMRI, EEG, ECG, EDA, EMG, impedance cardiograph, and computerized behavioral tasks. I seek further understanding of neurophysiological mechanisms that underlie trauma and substance use and the development of a mindfulness-based intervention to treat these conditions. As a clinical psychologist, I received extensive training in mindfulness-based approaches including acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) as well as other evidence-based treatments such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive behavior analysis system of psychotherapy (CBASP), and prolonged exposure for trauma.
Research Supervision
I am willing to serve as a chair or committee member for any of these types of projects: PSY 290, PSY 490, Honors thesis, MA thesis, Ed.S. Specialist Projects, Psy.D. dissertations.
