Katy King '07 & '11
Katy King started her career as an officer at Probation and Parole in 2007, after completing a 500 hour internship through WKU’s Social Work Program. As an officer, King supervised an average caseload of 100 probationers and parolees, and served as a Drug Court Liaison. In 2011, King completed her MA in Criminology through WKU and became a Social Service Clinician at Probation and Parole. In this role, King completed substance abuse evaluations, made treatment referrals, and held small aftercare groups. During this time, King also became a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. In 2015, King became an Assistant District Supervisor with Probation and Parole, and managed the Warren County office. For over 10 years, King has served as a Field Instructor for WKU, and has counseled many interns within WKU’s Criminology and Social Work programs. King has enjoyed her various positions within the KY Department of Corrections, and looks forward to her next role in assisting the Warren County Circuit Court with Pre-Sentencing Investigations.
