Lisa Winsett

Lisa Winsett '06 & '10

Lisa Winsett began as an intern at Probation and Parole through the WKU Sociology Program in 2006. She graduated WKU with a double major in psychology and sociology and minor in criminology in 2006. She began her career as an Officer with the Kentucky Department of Corrections in the Probation and Parole Division in 2007. Lisa completed her masters in criminology in 2010.

Lisa has been a supervising officer of probationers and parolees through various caseload capacities as a MRS Officer, Low Caseload Officer, Reentry Coordinator, Reentry Liaison and as a Field Training Officer. In addition, through the State of Kentucky’s Reentry efforts, Lisa became an Associate Project Leader during the construction of PORTAL, the Parolee Orientation Reentry Training Assimilation Lesson Plan. She also helped make the PORTAL Success Manual, constructing lesson plans and facilitating classes to parolees.

In January 2014 Lisa became the Deputy Director of the Southern Kentucky Reentry Council, serving as the Executive Director until 2017. She remains very active in the state’s efforts to network resources for the probation and parole population within the Warren County area and hopes that she and others like her are making a difference within our community and the individuals that they serve.

In 2009, Lisa received the Achievement Award for District 3 from the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
