Coby was born and raised in Western Kentucky before leaving the area to join the Military at the age of 18. While serving our Country he had the opportunity to explore the world, visiting more than twenty countries over the course of twenty years. It was during these travels that he first became interested in the differences in social, political and justice systems found throughout the world.

Coby has put this world experience to good use in capacities ranging from Security and Law Enforcement Operations, Classroom Instruction and, most recently, Addictions Assessment. Coby completed a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science in 2010 and made the commitment to continue that education in 2020 by turning his attention to the field of Criminology.

“WKU’s MA in Criminology program has been an informative and stimulating program, which I’ve had the good fortune of attending. Today, the field of Criminology can offer greatly needed insights into the issues that are at the forefront of society’s needs and concerns. Issues such as Policing, Sentencing and Offender Rehabilitation will continue to be “hot button” topics in the coming years; the field of Criminology will be there to help differentiate between the propaganda and the facts.”
