Elma Jasarevic, Peer Mentor 2020-2021
My involvement in the Sociology and Criminology Department has allowed me to have the best hands-on education at WKU. I have been offered great learning experiences whether that be in lecture, attending panels, or through various events at Western! While attending WKU I have been able to work at the Warren County Commonwealth’s Attorneys Office as a runner, this position has allowed me to take a glimpse into my future and all I can say is I'm excited! That being said, following graduation I will be attending law school. The reason I am a peer mentor is that I want to be able to shape the experience that my peers would have so they can get the best education for their future. Specifically, as peer mentors, I hope we can achieve the goal of making sure that students have access to all the resources and connections possible to help with their future.
