Study Abroad Application Fee
A non-refundable $150 study abroad application fee is required when submitting an application for a non-WKU program (WKU faculty-led programs are exempt). This fee helps offset costs associated with administering study abroad opportunities to WKU students. If you are not accepted into your intended program, or if your program is cancelled, you will receive a refund of the fee. If you have already paid an application fee for a program taking place in the same academic year (defined as fall through summer), you are not required to pay a second fee for the same year.
This fee will be posted to the student's account within approximately 15 business days and will be charged in the term in which the application was submitted, not the term in which the student is studying abroad. Please note that because of administrative processing, if an application is submitted close to the registration period, the fee will be applied to an upcoming term.
The application fee can be paid in the Office of Student Billing & Account Services or on TopNet and should be paid BEFORE a student departs for his or her program.
All questions regarding the study abroad application fee should be sent to study.abroad@wku.edu.
