Global Learning Scholarships at WKU
The World Topper Scholarship is offered through the Office Global Learning & International Affairs (GLIA) for WKU students, not employed full-time at WKU, participating in global learning opportunities. The online application can be accessed by clicking the link above. Awards range in amount and vary according to application quality, program length, program destination, and financial need.

WKU Global $150 Application Fee Scholarship
GLIA awards a $150 scholarship toward the WKU study abroad application fee to eligible students who apply for Benjamin A. Gilman Scholarships, David M. Boren Awards, Freeman Awards for Study in Asia and for students awarded a Critical Language Scholarship. Once the WKU study abroad application fee is charged to your account on TopNet, WKU Global will request that the $150 scholarship is applied. Contact a Global Learning Advisor for more information.
SGA Study Abroad/Student Teach Abroad Scholarship
The Student Government Association offers scholarships of up to $300 per academic term (winter, spring break, summer, or semester) and up to $600 per academic year. The application can be found at www.wku.edu/sga.
WKU Honors Travel Abroad Grant
Members of the WKU Honors College are eligible to apply for the Honors Travel Abroad Grant (TAG), which awards up to $500 towards an academic term (winter, spring break, summer, or semester) or up to $1,000 towards an academic year.
WKU Modern Languages Department Scholarships
The Modern Languages program at Western offers a number of partial scholarships to enable deserving current majors and minors to study abroad for a summer or longer. These scholarships, which typically range from $100-$1,000, are awarded to current students on a competitive basis.
There are a few study abroad scholarships available through TOPDollar, the WKU scholarship management system. The priority application date is December 31.
