Meet the Officers
President - Kyla Scanlon
Kyla is a rising senior and a triple major in Finance, Economics, and Business Data Analytics. She founded Women in Business 1 year ago to foster connections among female business majors. She is a Economics and Business Data Analytics research assistant, the Vice President of Beta Gamma Sigma, runs a finance blog, practices yoga, and leads various finance teams. Her favorite part of Women in Business is the opportunity that it provides to its members.
Vice President - Caroline Simpson
Caroline Simpson, a rising senior from Bowling Green, Kentucky, serves as Vice President of WIB majoring in Economics with a double minor in Finance and Political Science. She enjoys being involved in Panhellenic Council on campus, Rho Lambda, Economics club, SGA, DLI, Student United Way, and her sorority, Chi Omega. Caroline’s favorite part of Women in Business is “the incredible network of future business professionals.”
VP of Technology - Lexi Herman
Lexi Herman, a raising junior from Fort Thomas, Kentucky. She is majoring in Accounting and currently serves as the Vice President of Technology for Women in Business. In addition she is a member of Alpha Delta Pi, the club tennis team, and a mahurin honors college alumni ambassador. Her favorite memory as a member of WIB was traveling to Nashville for a women’s mentoring conference.
VP of Marketing - Madison Bates
I'm Madison Bates. I am a rising senior and I'm from Crestwood, KY. I'm majoring in Marketing Sales with a minor in Psychology. I like being involved in on-campus organizations and sports clubs, as well as being involved in the community. My favorite thing about WIB is connecting with others & making great memories together!
Finance Committee - Amanda Collins
Hi I’m Amanda Collins! I am a rising senior with a major in Business Administration Management and minor in Finance. I am from La Grange, KY and I hope to one day own my own small business!
Marketing Committee - Emma Manley
Hi I’m Emma Manley I will be a senior in the fall of 2018. I'm majoring in strategic marketing and will be certified in brewing and distilling once I graduate! I’m from Bardstown, KY and I love cows.
Faculty Advisor - Dr. Aquesha Daniels
Dr. Aquesha Daniels has been a part of the legal field for over a decade in several capacities ranging from private practice to state governmental work. Dr. Daniels remains a practicing attorney managing her own firm based in Jacksonville, Florida. She primarily consults in general contract and business immigration matters. Dr. Daniels has taught a variety of courses and presented talks on the legalities of business, ethics and its implications, as well as entrepreneurship. She recently helped facilitate the development of the WKU Women in Business student organization where she serves a founding faculty advisor. In addition to her student involvement, Dr. Daniels is heavily involved with the WKU Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning (CITL) to foster student success using innovative pedagogical initiatives. She is a member on the CITL Project-Based Learning (PBL) Circle of Excellence. Her interests focus on internationalization, pedagogical research, and high-impact practices. She is a member of the Academy of Legal Studies in Business where she is a part of the developing Law and Management section. She is also a member of The Florida Bar, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals.
