February 1, 2025
Any Class of 2027 applicant must have their application submitted by 11:59pm Central Time on February 1 in order to be considered for admission (although we highly suggest submitting a few days before the deadline in case there are any technical difficulties!). All supplemental materials (recommendation letters, transcripts, release of confidential information) must be postmarked or completed by February 1 as well.
Early February 2025
Any applicant who completes the Class of 2027 application will receive an email in early February letting them know whether they have been offered an Interview Day spot. We send out emails in the evening so everyone who applies receives communication at the same time, and so that applicants are with their families for what is either going to be good news or not so good news.
March 1, 2025
During Interview Day, the Class of 2027 will have the opportunity to see research labs, hear from professors about their interests, talk to student leaders about what life is really like at The Gatton Academy, and conduct an interview. Each interview panel is made up of one WKU faculty/staff member, one community member, and one Gatton Academy alumnus/alumna. Parents are also welcomed/encouraged to attend on this day, as they will hear presentations from multiple staff members. In the afternoon, they will hear from current and alumni parents who will hold a panel-style Q&A session.
Mid-March 2025
Any applicant who was offered a spot for the Class of 2027 Interview Day will receive an email during the evening in mid-March either letting them know they have been offered a position in the Class of 2027 or that they are on the initial waitlist. As we did for the Interview Day offers, we send out emails in the evening so everyone who applies receives communication at the same time, and so that applicants are with their families for what is either going to be good news or not so good news.
