The Gatton Academy's Staff

Sam Lubell is the 3rd Floor North Residential Counselor. Originally from Baltimore, Maryland, Sam graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Communication and a minor in Psychology. Passionate about youth development, Sam has a strong background in both academic and social enrichment for students.

After graduating, Sam taught English in South Korea and later returned to the U.S. to work in the youth nonprofit sector. There, he played a key role as a mentor for high school students and organized workshops that encouraged teens to engage in leadership and identity development, service, and social justice.

At Gatton, Sam is dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment, using his diverse experiences to guide and inspire students in their academic and personal journeys. Outside of work, Sam enjoys hiking, traveling, rock climbing, watching sports, playing video games, and spending time with his family.
