Mission of the Advising and Career Development Center
The Advising and Career Development Center promotes student success by empowering students to take responsibility for achieving their academic, career, and personal goals. The ACDC, in collaboration with both campus and community partners, provides accurate and timely educational resources to ensure students will graduate fully prepared to pursue meaningful careers and lives.
Advisors at WKU provide a wide range of services for our students. The Advising and Career Development Center coordinates academic advising activities among undergraduate colleges and academic departments for undergraduate students. At WKU, academic advising is required for all associate and baccalaureate degree-seeking students until graduation.
Career Development at WKU helps students and alumni identify and reach their career and employment goals, helps employers access an educated and highly trained workforce, and supports faculty and staff by providing opportunities to increase student learning and skill development. Student success is the top priority of the Advising and Career Development Center. We offer a wide variety of academic and student support services, ranging from peer tutoring, transition programs for first-year students, and programs for students who have an academic standing of Academic Warning and Academic Probation.
