CES Student Testimonies
My experience working at The Center for Energy Systems, under the guidance of Dr. Ashrafzadeh and Ali Buendia, was the single biggest contributing experience to my growth as an engineer. Dr. A and Ali gave me the freedom and resources to work independently while also giving the assistance needed for an undergraduate researcher to be successful. The lab gave me first-hand experience working in the many facets of research: testbed development, hypothesis testing, data processing, and presenting results. I am now working for the US Army Corp of Engineers at the Hydroelectric Design Center and plan to pursue a graduate degree in electrical engineering.

Throughout my experience working at the CES, I was exposed to many facets of engineering. Knowledge gained in these interactions led me to become a better engineer. Being able to directly apply knowledge from the classroom to a real-world problem makes it come full circle for me.
Dr. A, and our team would work directly with the industry partners. Having experienced working with professionals in the industry, it has prepared me for my future as a consultant for my engineering firm. Dr. A. is a great professor and an even better mentor. My experiences had at the Center for Energy Systems bridged the gap between college and the professional world.
