Sara Elizabeth Fitzpatrick Scholarship Fund

Remembering Sara Fitzpatrick

The talented Sara Elizabeth Fitzpatrick was born September 21, 1995, in Scottsville, Kentucky. She remained a Scottsville native her whole life, growing up there and attending Allen County Scottsville High School from 2009-2013. Sara was a unique soul; she was a kind-hearted, artistic young lady who loved singing, dancing, and painting. She was also a strong student, making the Honor Roll while in high school. Sara lived surrounded by loving family and friends, all of whom attest to how special she was.

Tragically, a car accident took her life on September 11, 2013. She was just ten days shy of her eighteenth birthday.  Her passing deeply affected her loved ones, particularly her brother Audie Wood who created this fund in her honor. Mr. Wood wished to perpetuate the legacy and memory of Sara in a way that would accurately match her life. Through his generosity, Sara will continue to positively impact others. This scholarship fund will annually help five full-time WKU juniors and seniors who are each in one of these areas: Art, Dance, Sociology, Psychology, and Greek Affairs. Like Sara did, each recipient must possess the personal qualities of character, integrity, dependability, industriousness, and human compassion. Sara’s death was devastating, but through this fund in her memory, her character is still able to live on.
