Rachel Hunter of Owensboro and Isaac Keller of Kansas City, Missouri are the seventh and eighth WKU students to be selected for the prestigious program since 2012. This is the second year in a row that two WKU students were selected.

Kate Hart of Princeton, Nathan Read of Belleveville, Illinois and Tristan Shaw of Glasgow will use Boren Scholarships to fund their Chinese Flagship capstone year in China. Michael Dimeo of Bowling Green was selected as an alternate.

WKU students Sarah Angelle, Sarah Linder, Logan Mitchell, Lily Nellans, Maggie Sullivan and Elizabeth Upshur will use Fulbright U.S. student grants for a year of English teaching, graduate study or research abroad after graduation.

Senior Erick Murrer of Nancy is the first WKU student to receive a Pickering Fellowship, which will provide $37,500 annually for a graduate degree related to the foreign service. Isabella Greene of Orlinda, Tennessee was selected as an alternate.

Eleven WKU students will study languages intensively abroad this summer through support from the Critical Language Scholarship. Two other students were named alternates. This year's performance nearly doubles the previous record of 6 awardees in 2014.
